Thong Made in USA. My new design.

Now that I have your attention, yes that is my new design on a thong made in the USA. I bet my mom is really proud (please don't buy one Mom!). The Chinese characters are in a patriotic red, white, and blue and translate to: "Made in the USA" in simplified Chinese characters. If anyone has a problem with the translation, go talk to my parents.

This logo is only available on
http://www.cafepress.com/MADE_IN_THE_USA_IN_CHINESE on products only Made in the USA. Hence one t-shirt, one jr jersey, one jr hoody, a dog shirt, and the aforementioned thong. It is also available on decals, hopefully also made in the USA, but if it isn't, make up for it by sticking it to something Made in the USA, like the current Ford Focus.

There is a lot of patriotic "made in the USA" products out there, ironically not made in the USA. SO here is mine, designed and Made in the USA. Please buy some and send to your friends in China. But not the dog shirt. The Chinese don't use food wrappers. I kid.

Turtle Travails

Last night was very stormy with tornado warnings keeping us glued to our NOAA weather radios. A radio alert in the middle of the night makes for some fitful sleeping. Fortunately in our area the weather was not too bad and now the sun is shining and the road is dry.

On the very outskirts (front curb) of the Municipal Geographic daily patrol, my partner sniffed out a weary traveler, possibly displaced by the storm. As we approached he warily retracted his head, but soon could tell we meant no harm.

"Do you mind showing me the way to the nearest creekside?" His English obviously had a thick amphibian accent.

"I can do more than that." I replied. I gently lifted his sun-warmed shell and he fully tucked himself in for the journey. I took twenty steps to the creek bank, which may have taken him half a day in his weakened state. I set him down in a shaded, sandy spot and stepped back a little.

"Much obliged."

I left him to continue his journey and took up the leash attached to my partner to continue our patrol.

New Design: 13.1 Halfway Done

A new design is up on my Cafepress shop here... http://www.cafepress.com/Half_Marathon_Half_Done

For all you geniuses (or for all of you that know a genius) that would like to show off that you are into half marathons, may I remind you that you are only halfway done! Go ahead and celebrate that you have done 50% of something. This is my 13.1 Halfway Done logo. Available on a variety of products. Great for you full marathoners to give to your half marathoner buddies.

My Store is Open! Keep me fed!

Here is the site of my Cafepress store! http://www.cafepress.com/theevildrsin
I will be selling all kinds of graphic designs on various products. I am also collaborating with some skilled graphic designers and engineers on more designs. I could use all your feedback on designs, products and pricing. Have an idea you want to see on a sticker or shirt? Leave a comment and I'll work with you!

Help keep me fed!

This first design is a response to all those oval stickers you see on SUVs with "26.2" and "13.1", which indicate that they presumably are into marathon and half marathon running. Well my first question is "If you are so into running, why are you driving???" Second question "Shouldn't your running mileage be on your shoe and your driving mileage be a sticker on your car?"

So let's be honest, you are driving because you hate running. Your total mileage of the week is 0.0. You don't want to contribute to your orthopedist's kid's college fund through knee surgery. Show your support through "0.0 Hate Running" products! And for goodness sakes, keep the running mileage down to 2 miles a pop at most and go swim instead!

Municipal Geographic Presents: Giant Bee Attacks Lotus

A Municipal Geographic photographer was on hand to capture photos of what may be the largest bee the photographer has ever seen. The photos above show the bee attacking a Lotus Exige, while not a large car, usually is much larger than a bee. Worried for the easily damaged fiberglass Lotus, the photographer released the insect, which flew off in a cloud of propwash and promptly stung a bald eagle.

Municipal Geographic roams a block radius to bring you the latest photos of nature within a block radius.

Gas-saving tips

Here you go - the obligatory how-to-save-money-on-gas article everyone does when gas prices go up. Here is mine.

1. Pick the right car. Choose wisely from the start. Buy a car that has the best mileage for the cheapest price. Hybrid, diesel, or 87 octane. Remember some cars recommend 93 octane but can use lower grades. But if the manual says 93 REQUIRED, stick with it.

2. Maintain the car. Oil changes, consider changing oil and transmission to synthetic to reduce friction, air filter, tire pressure, no extraneous cargo in the car, take off roof rack when not in use. buy tires with low rolling resistance. Don't buy big, heavy wheels.

3. Live close to everywhere you need to go. Tough for most people but if you live close to work, grocery store, etc you will spend less on gas.

4. Don't drive everyday. Consolidate errands. Carpool. Walk. Bike. Scooter. Bus.

5. Driving style. Drive gently - gentle acceleration and deceleration. don't race to each stoplight. try to time the lights. coast in gear. avoid traffic or high traffic times. avoid accidents. some gps will provide this info. don't go through drive thrus. don't get lost. use cruise control. don't speed - higher speeds use more gas due to increased wind resistance. Please don't drive like a jerk just to save gas though.
