My mom gave me this last year for my birthday after the following conversation;
"What do you want for your birthday?"
"Nothing, especially no junk."
Hmmm.
I looked at it and immediately classified it as junk although I do like solar powered flappy plants. Ok at least it was small and wouldn't take up much space. And look at the darn thing! It has two smiley faces for goodness sakes!
I put it up on the windowsill and mostly forgot about it, once in awhile it would catch my eye, flapping away.
Lately though, I've noticed even on gloomy days in the slightest light that flappy plant is chugging away! My fiancée and I have dubbed it Optimist Prime because it is a Transformer. Instead of changing into a Pontiac Aztek or a Nespresso machine, it transforms an 80% chance of rain to a 20% chance of sun. I hate cloudy gloomy weather but seeing that flappy plant flap away in the slightest bit of light helps.
I'm hoping to take a lesson from this piece of "junk" and find the scraps of sunlight in the clouds.
