August books

Sipsworth by simon van booy. A old lady is waiting to die. Then an animal comes into her life and changes everything.

A tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty smith. A young girl grows up in the slums of early 1900s Brooklyn.

Welcome to the Hyunam-dong bookshop by hang Bo-reum. A woman in Seoul gives up the normal path to success to open up a bookshop.

House of salt and sorrow by Erin a. Craig. A ghostly fantasea, ideal for reading at the beach.

Giovanni’s room by James Baldwin.

The summerhouse by Jude deveraux. Three friends reunite to celebrate their same 40th birthdays and reflect on their life so far then have an opportunity to live the path not taken. This is a deceptively good book. It starts out as what I would categorize as a good “girly” book, but even after reading the back cover synopsis it becomes a completely different crazy good sci-fi book.

Heartwood by amity gaige. Woman disappears while hiking the Appalachian trail. Searchers not only try to find her but also find out what happened.
